Program. A new version of the program is available. The program will still change a bit, please check things online till the conference.

The program for the memorial event for Paul Humphreys is also online.

Laptops and technical issues. Please bring your own laptop and adaptors, or make sure someone may share one with you. The conference site does not provide this. Have a look here if you want to check what the rooms look like:

 Cables should have HDMI plugs.

The session devoted to celebrating Margie’s memory will be hybrid. We’ll put the Zoom link online soon.

Badges. Please provide your own badge with your name and affiliation. To save resources of all sorts, we shall not provide badges.

Chairing. Please complete the following form to indicate which sessions you would like to chair.

Coffee breaks and lunches. We will offer coffee breaks and lunches. If, at any time, you still feel a little peckish, you can easily find places to buy food or snacks in the streets.

Accessibility. The Couvent des Cordeliers, our conference venue, is a beautiful and historic place in the heart of Paris. Still, it is also an old, venerable place, and it could not be completely modernized in all its places for people for whom walking is difficult.

- Amphithéâtre Billy-Pasquier is on the ground floor and accessible to wheelchairs.

 - Amphithéâtre Roussy is on the first floor and is accessible by lift or stairs, but, unfortunately, there are four stairs to enter the room.

- Salle Marie Curie, where there will be coffee breaks and posters, is on the ground floor, but there are four stairs to access it.

If something is an issue for you, please write to us so we can schedule your talk or presentation in amphithéâtre Billy-Pasquier and do our best to find solutions.

COVID-19 and health issues. COVID-19 is still around and may affect each of us differently. Let us try together not to constitute another academic cluster and to be careful before the conference, when traveling, during the conference, and, naturally, when coming back home!

In any case, please wear a face mask if you have any doubts concerning your health condition.

Conference diner. We found a very nice spot for the conference diner, Le Petit Prince de Paris. The price for the conference dinner is 43 euros, which includes a starter, main dish, and dessert. It does not include drinks. The menu is described below. We left it in French since (claim) linguistic flavor is also part of any culinary experience. For decades, the “Porcelet au miel et au vin rouge” has been their special dish.

Please fill out the following form to let us know if you will attend. If you are a student without sufficient funding for the conference dinner, fill in the form, too, in case we may help (no promise).

Accommodation

  • Accommodation tends to be expensive in Paris but most hotels are full anyway. We advise that you book your trip in advance.
  • Airbnb is widely available. If you are looking for a cheap option with easy access by public transportation, check the offers in southern suburbs along the RER B line (e.g., Gentilly, Arcueil, Bagneux, Bourg-la-Reine). There are RER B stations not far from the conference place (Luxembourg or Saint Michel).
